Grand Opening Set for the UCF North End Recreation & Wellness Center! Mon, Apr 1, 2013
Borrelli + Partners designed all phases for the new, remote, 8,700 square foot building that is now the University of Central Florida’s (UCF) Recreation & Wellness Center at Knight’s Plaza (north end). The grand opening and ribbon cutting celebration for this $1.2 million project is scheduled to begin at 3:30pm on Friday, April 5, 2013. An interesting aspect of the design was the requested integration of Gender-neutral restrooms, a push from the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning community as some of their members have said to not feel safe and comfortable in traditional restrooms. This is becoming a popular commodity for public facilities.
