UCF Recreation and Wellness Center Expansion Project Achieves LEED Gold! Fri, Nov 9, 2012
This 100% student funded, 62,00 SF expansion was targeted for LEED© Silver Certification but reached LEED© Gold Certification from the US Green Building Council at no additional cost to our client.
The expansion houses a variety of program activities. The primary use of the facility is for student recreation and wellness and includes spaces for cardio, fitness, in-door racquet ball courts, multi-purpose rooms, outdoor adventure center area, MAC gymnasium, offices, wet classrooms, new locker and rest rooms, a new 25 yard by 25 meter pool and associated pump room.
The expansion will significantly assist in the University’s mission of providing high quality recreational facilities and programs to a growing and health conscious population. We are proud of our newly certified building and have long understood that good design needs to be sustainable and that sustainable design is good for all.
