Summary
The project scope consists of the design and construction of four separate public works buildings on a 20 acre site. A considerable amount of site work was required, such as survey, paving, roadway work, drainage and utilities. The building types include a fire station (6,200 square feet), a fleet maintenance building (6,543 square feet), a grounds maintenance building (4,500 square feet), and an office building (7,200 square feet).
The fire station contains sleeping quarters, apparatus bays, kitchen area and a decontamination room. Public access is provided by a front lobby area where a treatment room and police report office are located. The fleet maintenance building includes three maintenance bays, and tire and parts storage areas with a separate office space. All the maintenance bays utilize above ground lifts with a clear structure height of 19’-0”, accommodating the city’s largest vehicle.
The office building contains men’s and women’s locker rooms, a multipurpose room, two small shop rooms on the first floor, and conference rooms, offices, storage and file areas on the second floor. The office building is connected to the existing water division building by a second level bridge.
